I agree! Just read your post after I threw my two cents in!

Yes this is a great idea. I like the colors but it would be nice to have a focus or something to calm it.

i did one jelly roll in pinks and appliqued flowers on it, another in blues and greens and app. a dolphin on top. you could try that. quilt it, don't let it go to waste, came out nice

Nanny, that is the way I saw it also. Love your comment.

I didn't see headless bears....what I saw was bears playing hide and seek and peeking through the fabric strips from each other! Lol!

I would appliqué lighter, coordinating balloons on the front - just a couple, to break up the "busy-ness". On going, I thought you lost the integrity of the patterns by cutting them so small. Perhaps a disappearing 9 patch would be a better choice. But thanks for your generosity in doing charity quilts!

Yes, I would quilt them.

I plan to do the very thing you mention today.

definetly finish it. Colors are beautiful. Some lucky child will love it.

Yes, go ahead and quilt them. Not bad - 3 quilt tops for $2 and a piece from your stash. If you have any concerns about headless teddies maybe next time cut that focus fabric wider so there are whole teddies (or whatever). Just a thought.
Kids have great imaginations, given half a chance so you can bet they'll make a game out of finding the part that go together. Well done twinkie.

I think the colors are great, but the pattern needs some more solid, and the bears without heads are
disturbing even to me as an adult. I would personally remove those strips and replace with a solid navy in a wide strip.
That way you've made a lively quilt that:

1 ) has animals with heads
2 ) isn't overly busy (eyes can rest on solid)
3) hides dirt and stains
4) doesn't require any further designing
5) stays on the thrifty side for a give-away quilt

Love to see it what you end up doing with it.

I would call them peek-a-boo bears , the heads of the headless ones show up somewhere else !
