I would be the first one there.... maybe even setting up a tent the night before opening... I always like a bargain and never want to pay full price for anything!

KwiltyKahy 08-19-2011 12:18 PM

OH, YES!!

xsquilter 08-19-2011 12:23 PM

Sure would! Never hurts to stop in & check things out.
Umm, how long is the flight to Texas do you think?! LOL

Barbshobbies 08-19-2011 04:10 PM

I would shop any place where they sold quilting items!

mamaw 08-19-2011 04:21 PM

Most certainly! We all have patterns we don't intend to use more than once or twice, fabrics leftover or changed our mind on, too many books. Good way to make a few dollars for new stuff.

ube quilting 08-19-2011 04:31 PM

absolutley yes. Some ones trash is anothers treasure. Not that it's trash!
peace

Winkee 08-19-2011 05:30 PM

mmdquilts 08-20-2011 03:45 AM

Sounds good to me. I love thrift store finds and mixing new in too should bring even more customers

grann of 6 08-20-2011 03:56 AM

Most definitely. I would go at least once just to check it out.

Shelbit30 08-20-2011 04:14 AM

Steady Stiching 08-20-2011 04:20 AM

I'd be first in line!!
When my guild does a show there are always tables to rent and we have a "garage sale"

sosew4fun 08-20-2011 04:22 AM

Yes, I go to a shop that she buys your excess stash by the
yard, bolt or piece and resells it. She resells for $4 per yard
on bolts, some is cheaper. Also takes embroidery, stamping,
yarn. She opened a tiny store front and is always busy.

cjaye44 08-20-2011 04:23 AM

In a heartbeat :-P :-P

sally taormina 08-20-2011 04:33 AM

I really think that is a good idea. I have found a lot of quilting tools at the salvation army store by me. I wish a store like that would open around me because I have 3 grand daughters that are beginning to quilt and it gets expensive trying to get them all set up

grannypat7925 08-20-2011 04:33 AM

Yes, yes, and yes! What a great idea!

Lavada 08-20-2011 04:36 AM

misoop 08-20-2011 04:50 AM

tmg 08-20-2011 04:54 AM

You bet I would. It can be called "NEW TO ME". what one person does not like another might love. The people at the thrift stores really don't know what they are selling. Love going to them though.

Geri B 08-20-2011 04:58 AM

we should form a franchise.....we all live in different areas...hey, MickieD here we come....but this is so much better for one than fast food......fast fabric yahoo!!!!!

Sounds like a great idea! I get a lot of material from regular second hand stores. By that, I mean, I buy dresses and cut them up for scrappy quilts. I also make dolls and I get a lot of fabric for my "babies" that way. It is a cheap way to get fancy material and plain.

After all, isn't that the way your granny made her quilts? Old clothes and flour sacking. I still have my granny's quilt hanging on my sewing room wall.

SharonTheriault 08-20-2011 05:43 AM

sounds like a fun place to shop.

We have a relatively new shop here in Englewood (Denver Metro area) Wooden Spools, that is "fabric exchange". The fabric looks beautiful and you'd never know you were not the first time buyer!

nancy59 08-20-2011 05:54 AM

I think it's a great idea

laalaaquilter 08-20-2011 05:58 AM

Almost everyday!

bettysew 08-20-2011 06:01 AM

Definitely!!!! Would be a great place to get fabric for charity quilts.

sixfootroad 08-20-2011 06:05 AM
