I have been tasked with making a new baby quilt and the mom has requested anything with farm animals, and using green - the dad chimed in with "It's ok to have a little 'cammo' in there"

Was wondering if any one of my quilting "buddies" out there in cyberland has any experience with this? A "folk art" type quilt immediately came to mind, but I have little or no imagination.

Would dearly love some help here. Thanks.

you could do an aplic type quilt. useing green cammo for the grass or maybe a tree top. it just depends on what you are wanting to make with it.

Good suggestion for someone who knows how to applique worth a darn, which isn't me. But I actually have absolutely no idea whatsoever on the how or why of constructing a quilt like this. I am strictly, at least up til now, a 'scrappy' quilter. I've never made a "folk art" quilt, but I surely do admire them.

I'm hoping to get some hints and also, ideally, a pattern for this quilt.

Google "coloring pages of animals" and you'll find plenty of inspiration.

I agree, best $1 you will spend on that quilt.

is this for a boy or girl ? or is it neutral? there is some pink camoflauge John Deere material. there is lots of John deere material. and I have seen red barns with collies , calves, lambs, etc. You could make the backing out of camo.. it also comes in flannel. I just don't care for the way flannel wears. you can do alternating rows of pictures and gingham material. Just make some squares and go with it/1
