Needing help with a label quote

Currently I'm quilting a Indianapolis Colts quilt for a friends wife. Yep its for HER not him. She loves football, he loves hunting and fishing. Anyway when I was getting the details for making this quilt I asked if he wanted a label. Of course he says "You mean washing intructions?" So I explained to him that homemade quilts often have a label with names of giver and receiver, date, a quote anything you want on the label or nothing at all just the quilt. His response "Put something on there that will help me make a touchdown!" Giggling...I agreed. Well I'm at a loss for what to put on this label. Something that should the grandkids see it .....you know! Yes I said grandkids, they are both in their 50's so the chance of him making a touchdown aren't good anyway....LOL! Any help or suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Maybe something about football being a contact sport?

DogHouseMom 07-03-2012 08:25 AM

Hey ... I'm in my early 50's and ... well ... "touchdowns" are still appreciated!! :)

I going to avoid references to "Wide Receivers" and "End Zone" .... although I'm tempted!!

How about ....

"Hubby Completes a Pass" (or his name instead of "hubby")

Hubby still loves you? To warm you when I'm hunting.

Handcraftsbyjen 07-03-2012 08:29 AM

I like the idea of to warm you went I'm hunting.

To [name] from your loving husband [name]
Just want to keep you warm, even when I'm away from you.

Go for the long one.
Always try for extra points.
Spike it!
Time for a huddle.
Whose turn to call the play?
Football is a team sport.

stopping now... :)

QuiltnNan 07-03-2012 08:47 AM

or how about:

Snuggle watching the play,
Even when I'm away.

[a little poetry goes a long way, don't you think?]

How about "Commissioned by the Quarterback of your heart." OMG how corny is that? lol

There are some really good ones here!!

leatheflea 07-03-2012 02:02 PM

Lots of good ones! Doghousemom you have me and sweetie laughing!, but I like yours best so far!

Does the team have a "motto" or something (like the Raiders are "Raider Nation" or the Saints say "Who Dat?")? You maybe could work that in. Since Indy is the Colts, it could be from her favorite stud... LOL!

DogHouseMom 07-03-2012 03:59 PM

Just thought of a "clean" reference using "End Zone".

How about

"Meet me in the End Zone".

or .....

"Tackle Time"

hee hee ... given his expected outcome I kinda like Tackle time ... and it fits with his fishing too :) Ooooh! Triple entrende!!

More spring to mind (I can't stop!)

"Get Sacked"
