A few days ago someone created a post about fabric quality. That made me think of something that has been bugging me lately.

I buy Schemtz needles (not cheap) and I find I have to buy and change them much more than I ever did before. Is this something that is happening across the board? What kind of needles do you buy? Do you think the quality in needles is diminishing just as much as fabric quality?

Superior Threads makes them. I've started to use their needles but have many unused universal needles and embroidery needles that just somehow ended up with me over the years. Dunno what to do with those. Even have Singer needles from 60's-90's.

Ummmm, not sure....I have organ titanium, schemtz, pfaff, older singer needles (depending on which machine I'm using) and so far have not had a problem. I do know we have to be careful and change them after so many projects as the piercing power diminishes after awhile depending on what we're working on. The titanium needles are supposed last longer. You can go to Superior Threads and learn a lot about needles, what size to use for particular thread, etc., and possibly help you if you are having problems with yours. That is a really great site to help any of us learn about threads, needles for various projects and so forth.
