Needle threader jammed.
 

My friend has jammed her needle threader behind the needle, It is at the back of the needle bar.
does anyone have any idea how to get it back to the front? I've tried but it want move to a front setting. Is there any way to remove the needle threader completely.? Machine is a janome not sure of number.
hope someone can help as it will save a long journey.

I am not familiar with Janome but maybe you could find a repair manual online that could help

Do you mean the little hook that goes through the eye of the needle so you can thread the needle? I know mine gets bent sometimes, and if I have the needle moved too far to either side the hook doesn't want to insert through the eye. I just kinda bend the needle until they line up and the hook goes through or I press against the hook to get it a little straighter.

I couldn't live without that needle threader!

Yes it is that threader. It is not just bent it is the wrong side of the needle bar. If you get the needle to go up and down the needle threader also goes up and down and stops the machine working.

Without seeing it, I would suggest trying this:

1. Remove the needle from the machine.
2. Hold onto the threader, and turn the handwheel until the needlebar is at its highest.
3. Gently but firmly, pull down the needle threader. When the part stuck behind the needlebar is below it, swing the threader forward/left (back to it's proper position).

I've never had this happen before, but this is where I would start. I figure, she got it stuck there without taking it apart, so hopefully it can be unstuck the same way.

A picture might make it easier to figure out, if the board is letting pictures post again...

I ordered a new one for my Janome. DH took the old one off and put on the new one in about 5 minutes. I would say take it off, can't use it as it is now anyway.
