Needle threader won't work??

My Baby Lock Espire (spelling??) won't thread anymore. It looks like all is working but the thread is not threading. Any ideas of how to fix. Thanks in advance.

Check the needle to ensure it is placed correctly....completely up and turned the right way.

A small part that you can replace yourself...my last one cost about $6. I'm thinking it might be same as Brother ( which mine is. I have replaced on ULT and se270. Look on eBay. Or ask your dealer to sell or order one. They do have to be replaced, as the tiny wire that goes thru needle eye will break. Or maybe yours is just bent.

If the needle is not in correctly or if it's not all the way up in the shaft the threader won't work. If you have a good magnifying glass, make sure the hook is actually going into the needle hole. Sometimes it can get bent and you can try bending it back.

My Pfaff did the same thing recently. Turned out it was the needle or the placement of the needle. It looked like it was in right and I pushed on it to see if it was seated properly but when I changed to a different needle it worked just fine.

it really does come down to this, many times.

I gave up with using the needle threader on my Viking. I just use a normal wire threader in the fashion you would a hand-sewing needle. Not worth the aggravation of fighting with the threader on the machine.

On my Bernina, the needle must be in the most upright position for the threaded to work. I always press my needle up button to make sure before trying to use the threader. Does your machine have the needle up button?

Check stitch setting, most needle threaders only work when needle in centre position and fully up, I bent the wire on my old machine many times and found you could gently push it back in position with point of stitch ripper.

Try a different needle--a different brand and/or a different size to make sure it is actually the threader. I find that with size 90s my threader works fine on my Janome. With other sizes, it might or might not work.

I have a basic Brother machine and when the needle threader stopped working (after checking numerous times that the needle was in correctly) I got a magnifying glass out and could see there was a little part that was bent. I looked on the internet and can't remember if it was a You tube or something else, but, it was very simple to take the bent part off, bend it back, and put it back on. It works great now. It wasn't hard and I figured if I screwed up I could always take it to the OSMG.

Sometimes the new technology just simple fails to work. I hope you are able to get your problem resolved.

Thanks so much for trying to help me with my threader problem on my Baby Lock. I think notmorecraft hit it. I am going to check that needle setting. I believe mine is slightly set to the right.

It has been reported - by clicking on the triangle with the exclamation mark in the light blue box, on the left side of the screen, that gives the information about the poster. It is at the bottom of that light blue box.

Good ideas above. I have been told that the small plastic piece with the threading wire/hook just pulls right off the post for replacement. I have been meaning to order a couple replacements to put in my little toolbox for the day I might bend or break one.

If it is not the needle placement then you may need to replace the needle threader. The part is not expensive and available on line. You may want to try this link. I hope this helps: https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/se...eedle+threader.
