Needle turn appliqué

I am an amateur when it comes to appliqué and it seems to be a lost art.

I’m working on a BOM that threw a curve block that needed to be appliqués. I have no idea how to do the corners as they go into very thin tiny corners. Does anyone know of videos to watch or websites that might be helpful? Thanks.

I look on YouTube when looking for help on techniques like this. Just type applique in the search bar and you will get many options. If at first you don't find what you need, just do another search. So many videos.

Points can be tricky but keep the seam allowance small like 1/8 inch so it can tuck under the point. I sew one side down to the point and then you can sweep the second side under the side you’ve sewn down.

I have found, that if you will push the "point" of the corner or on a pointed end like a star, under so it looks squared off, then do your sides, that his will form nice points. Hope this helps

Google Rosa Rojas, her applique is stunning and she has been on a couple of episodes of The Quilt Show with Alex. She might also have some of her own YouTube videos.

Look on Youtube for anything by Becky Goldsmith or Linda Jenkins by "Piece O' Cake". I purchased their cd several years ago and it was so helpful.

Agree on the 'Piece O' Cake' ladies. They go into great detail on technique. I bought a book of theirs and it's great to have on hand for reference.
