My first quilt was needle turn applique. Applique is my love and I don't ever do it any other way. I have a friend that does the MOST beautiful work. But few other I know still use that method.

I love holding a needle, piecing, applique, quilting. That's why I quilt, no matter how long it takes.

I can and have done hand applique, however, I know better than trying to do my avatar and other detailed works by hand!! I would never ever finish all those points!

I am an avid needle turn fan, prefer it to sitting at a sewing machine all day. It is portable, I can pick it up anytime, anywhere and work on it.

I do machine piecing and quilting, may times will piece the block on which I will applique a motif.

It is slower, you don't get as many quilts done, but so beautiful.

Needle turn is a learned skill, when I look at my points and curves of things I made 30 years ago, I am aghast. But on the other hand, it shows how far I have come.

There is a peaceful rhythm with needleturn, as with hand quilting.

Once you start it you will be hooked for life.

Check out the Baltimore Album BOM I am running here on the board: All of my blocks have been needleturn, but most of the girls are doing fusible.

Needle turn applique is my favorite. I have completed 12 blocks for a Baltimore Album quilt and am ready to start putting it together. Love the results.

Mine also--I love needle turn, even if it is a lot slower.

I love doing needle turn applique. It's portable, and it gives me something to do while I am in the same room with hubby. This way, I always have 2 projects going at one time.

Needle turn is my favorite method, back basting makes it even easier. Thanks to the Ozark Piecemakers Quilt Guild for introducing me to this form of art.
