Neighbourhood Show and Share

We just had another Neighbourhood Show and Share in my area. The 3 local guilds/club hosted neighbouring guilds and quilters for a lunch then a show of quilts. We charged $5 for non-members of our groups and our members made sandwiched and desserts for the visitors. We met in the morning to make up veggie, fruit and cheese trays and the visitors started arriving at 11. Lunch at 12 and show starting at 1. Our members collected almost 200 handmade and donated prizes for draws and we made up 2 final gift baskets. This event is hosted by a different town every year and this year we had 225 visitors. We also have a block lottery. This year we sent out a 'mason jar' 8" block and got enough to give away 8 kits of 20 blocks and 1 of 16. Everyone thought it was a great day.

Love this idea! How did you display the quilts? Or stands or was it more like a fashion show?

Wonderful idea! Sounds like a great time. And $5 is a bargain for a meal and a quilt show! Wow!

What fun that must have been!

I guess the longest distance was about 3 hours to drive and some visitors chose to stay overnight. We gave out tourist info at the shoe

Of course I meant 'show' not 'shoe' (maybe I was thinking about Ed Sullivan 😁

I don't understand the "mason jar" reference. Please explain. Thanks.
