New 505 Temporary Quilt Basting Spray
Anyone tried the new stuff? It's supposed to be ordorless, colorless, etc.
Edit: Never mind. I guess it's the same stuff. New packaging. |
Yes, it's supposed to be ... the same stuff ...
... but like you, I always question when companies do a big change ... ... if not different, then why make it different? :) |
Many times with a change of packaging , the company has snuck in a size reduction .

Well, I recently bought a fresh can of the June Tailor version and felt it smelled strongly. Too strongly for me. Which is a pity because it is the brand I used to use. I've had access to a long-arm for a few years and so the cans I've been using were old. Don't know if it was the age or a formula change, but the old cans did not bother me and the new can did.
There was a change in the wording on the back and when you look at the weight the new smaller container is actually more product (or at least heavier) than the old larger container. How do you 505 users feel about the odorless-ness? |
I never noticed any smell from 505. i hope i can continue to say the same. right now i'm out.

I bought a can three days ago, and there is no smell, but it appears to behave the same as the old. Glad the fumes are no longer present. HTH

Basting spray and skipped stitches
Does anyone else have trouble with basting sprays and their machine skipping stitches? I have a horrible time with it and do so desperately need to use basting spray when making my placemats. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rosalie

I have stopped using basting spray. They were the best for me for the longest time. I did not like the way things gunked up using them. Now I use Elmer's School Glue for basting and I am very happy with this method.

With basting spray, less is more. If your needle is getting gunked up, you are using too much.
