A quilter friend lent me a book she just finished called An Elm Creek Quilts Sampler by Jennifer Chiaverini. It has 3 books in one. There are several more. I started it and its great. Its about a new girl in town, making friends and trying quilting for the first time. So far its very good. Only problem is when Im reading, Im not sewing!!!

Maureen her Elm Creek Quilt series of books are marvelous. And the best part is she keeps writing more! Enjoy them.

I also get them on CD from the library ... then I listen while I sew! Feeds both my addictions that way!!

If you can, start with the first in the series, and follow them in order. It's an ongoing saga of these women and their famiies. I read my first book in that series years ago, and have been buying them at yard sales and thrift stores since then to keep in my collection. I can't wait for the next new one to come out. :)

I've read all the books and love them!

Ive read all of them, some I bought on sale, some I checked out at the library.
They are much better than any other quilt series of books. |
These are great books; I've read I think about 13 of her 17 that she has out. Each one is great and then she also has quilt pattern books. Her web site is elmcreek.net. I used to check it out to see the quilts that she referenced in her books. You can learn alot thru her books.
