New Computerized Machine by Gammill
 

Does anyone know anything about a new less complicated computerized machine Gammill was supposed to unveil?
I heard of it almost 6 months ago expecting it to be on the market before now. I believe it is called Elegante.
It isn't an upgrade like a Statler. But a whole new machine.
I'm curious and intrigued.

I have not heard anything about this. But the Ellegante is a Baby-lock embroidery machine. Maybe what you heard is something about that?

SVAL--you are right--when the Gammill tech here in April I asked cause of the magazine ads being so mysterious. he said it's the advertising ploy and no info is coming out until they actually make it available to buy--but that its' a computer guided system that is intended to be less complex and less expensive than Statler Stitcher. He said it could not be retrofitted onto a current Gammill like the Statler can but required a whole new machine.

Took a class Thurs with Kris Viera from Lincoln NE and she is a Gammill educator and was getting a new Gammill since her's is an older Optimum---but I don't think she was getting this new one cause she doesn't use computer guided.

Ok thanks for the information. That's about what I'd heard as well. Any idea as to when it's being rolled out? I was beginning to think it has flopped.

no, that I don't know---does make you wonder though cause the ads and website made it sound like it would be late spring/early summer.

So, I’m currently researching Longarms and came across the new computer driven software by Gammill.

It’s called Elevate and can be added onto Vision 1, Vision 2 and some of the older models . . .but it does not replace Statler. Elevate is basically a basic computer system for users wanting to do block designs, edge to edge and borders. It doesn’t do fills or some of the more intricate cut out fills or let you design your own quilting. It’s very very basic, but appears much more simple to use if you don’t need to do much else.

It's also much less expensive than the Statler, but like you said, it doesn't do as fine of detail and i'm not sure that you can actually program it, but maybe have to download the design--don't quote me on that though!

You could go to the Gammill User FB page and get more info from some that use it, too.

I've heard about it as well. It costs 10K. That's pretty steep. It is to compete with the tablet systems the other companies already had on the market.
That's too much for what it does. I didn't pay much more than that for my Vision 2. I'd give them about half the asking price.

I visited an APQS dealer last weekend in my research for a Longarm. She told me there’s a company called The Grace Company that makes the software for all the longarms using tablets. They’re all basics . . .blocks, and edge to edge designs but no borders and no fills around appliqués, though borders are coming. I would imagine, that’s who is doing the Elevate software since it looks so similar to Quilt Path and the others.

But if you’re going to spend that kind of money to computerize your longarm, might as well go with IntelliQuilter (if you can tolerate that hideous noise) as it’s close to the same price as Elevate but does so much more.
