You may already know about this but if not....
The lady in my LQS took a 5 in square folded it in half then took the sides and folded them over evenly and it made a praire point. Just sew it to the quilt. It was so neat and easy!!!

I think that is the method that Ricky Timm uses. I'd have to agree, this is the easiest method I've seen!

That's how I've done them too. I've also used the points to make 3D sunflower petals for a banner I did for our church.
