Yup. Those cards that come in magazines are valuable for many shapes, not just hexies. I use them for small applique berries -- really any kind of small circle. I love to repurpose free materials whenever I can, rather than buying.

Thanks so much, you have answered my question that I don’t have to have the acrylic templates. Yes, I have the glue and rotating cutting mat from Sue Daley. Just need to get started.

I don't like the acrylic templates, they tend to be undersized for me to hold easily.

I tape a paper card stock 3/8" from the edge of a square ruler to make a cutting guide instead.

I’ve been enjoying EPP for 20 years- I still have never spent money on an acrylic template. I lay a paper piece on my fabric, lay my ruler over it and cut my fabric about 1/4” to 3/8” wider all around the shape. Some pieces I want a smaller seam allowance, some are easier with a little igger.
or, I trace my shape onto fabric then cut it out with scissors.

You can go online and get a print out of the size you want to cut the fabric. I print it on paper. Then I put the pattern on top of my fabric and cut them. out with a rotatory cutter. . Then I get the smaller side pattern and cut card stock, punch a hole in center and use a rotary cutter to cut them out. This saves a lot of time marking and cutting with a scissors.

I make templates from old overhead projector plastic sheets. You can trace fabric patterns (for fussy cuts), and then use rubbing alcohol to clean!

I just looked at all the “millefiori” patterns and they are gorgeous .
