Yesterday at Joann's, I got 4 yards (what was left on bolt) of this beautiful fabric. It called to me, so I rescued it. :) Here's a link to the fabric. http://www.joann.com/keepsake-calico...sley/prd10380/ The actual fabric is quite a bit lighter, than my monitor shows this picture to be.
Now I'm wondering what I should do with it. Possibly a queen-sized quilt . . . or a twin-sized sofa quilt and something else . . . maybe some darling baby quilts. Problem is, I can't do it all, with only 4 yards! :p The main color is a sort of dusty mauve-pink, with lighter pink, touches of maroon, sage, and white. I'd want to complement it with sage and maroon, with maybe a bit of white. I have a few projects ahead of this one but thought it'd be fun, to share the "dreaming/planning" phase, with my fellow-quilters. Question - when you see this fabric, which quilt design pops into your head? Ideas? :) |
I have no pattern ideas to offer, but lately it seems like I plan my fmq when I plan the pattern/fabric.
This would be so pretty when fmq the fabric pattern, the paisley, the flowers! http://happyquiltingmelissa.blogspot...-paisleys.html http://happyquiltingmelissa.blogspot...-paisleys.html http://happyquiltingmelissa.blogspot...-paisleys.html http://thequiltyarn.blogspot.com/201...practicie.html the flower http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.c...me-flower.html |
Thanks! Those are gorgeous but I don't do FMQ. Maybe one day . . . . :)
