Hi everyone, well i bought some awesome looking fabric, but i'm not sure what to make with it. i feel in love with it, when i first seen it and had to buy three meters of each color... It will have to be a special pattern, for i would love all the colors to show nicely. I've never seen anything like this fabric before . In each picture i opened the fabric so you can see the cool colors from selvage to selvage. Anyone have any suggestions, would appreciate your help. Thanks. :-)

in the picture from left to right is the fabric from selvage to selvage.

Awesome! What's the name of these yummy fabrics so we can get some too? You could do something like this with it. It's a free pattern at Robert Kaufman Fabrics http://www.robertkaufman.com/quiltin...doscope_quilt/

yes i was going to sugest the bargello too. i have never made one, but have seen the quilt. thoses colors would be just right for that. where did you buy your fabrics at and the name of it?

Denise 04-04-2008 02:46 PM

oh thank you all for your responses, omg love that RKQ marbleous quilt. I purchased this fabric at a little shop called seams easy in Peace River, Alberta, Canada. For 15.99/metre.
The name of fabric is: Mckenna Ryan's Silent Inspirations style #PN014 by Hoffman California International Fabric. The lady at the quilt shop told me this was totally new, just came out. For those of you's who are interested in buying it, good luck hope you can find it.

When ceannastrah and i were chatting, she also mentioned that this fabric would look good in a bargello or even maybe a french braid. Oh decisions decisions heehee. But so much fun... Thanks everyone. Happy sewing.

Oh Denise, it is beautiful, I can see why you fell in love with it. I'm sure that once you get the courage to cut into it, whatever you do will be wonderful. Can't wait to see your desicion!

Well, what to do with it?
First, I'd stare at it for a while because it's really pretty.
Then?
SEND IT TO ME! :)

Haven't heard of them myself, but sounds like a neat spot! And absolutely wonderful material....if you did a search on McKenna Ryan I'm sure you'd come up with something in your own area.

jbsstrawberry 04-05-2008 01:53 PM

That is some really awesome fabric!! I'll probably get poofoooed for this...but when I first looked at it, I didn't see quilt...but I sure saw an awesome sundress!!! Lightest at the shoulders, LOL guess it comes from being a seamstress before learning to quilt huh?

Denise 04-05-2008 01:58 PM

I also thought of making a dress or skirt.... which i have no clue to do either  but one day i may attempt to try .

jbsstrawberry 04-05-2008 02:08 PM

This one works up very well, and just like the pattern name "it's so easy" look for pattern number 4157. Extremely great for a beginner pattern.

Oooh, love the fabric! :)

Madelyn 04-05-2008 09:09 PM

I would be sooooo tempted to make a dress or sarong from that fabric. IMHO, it's too lovely to be cut up.

yes madelyn i totally agree with you and everyone else....i'm scared to cut it. it is to beautiful to cut up, so i'll be taking my time to cut it into something. I would love to make a awesome looking quilt with this fabric and i also like the idea of making a dress with it to. So i may have to go buy more if i use some of it for a dress .

Denise 04-06-2008 11:54 AM
