that's a wonderful site. i printed and highlighted and placed it with my doctor's letter in an envelope. now i hope i don't need it. if they've run into this before, then it may not present a problem. yeah !:roll:

my brother in law had to leave a gold screwdriver for his eyeglasses in mexico. they were a cute gift from my nephew. it was about 2-1/2" long, in a tiny case.
at least they let him keep the case. that guard must have had a bad taco.

I wonder if there is a separate site for over seas flights?

I do know that in the last year they have relaxed the regs here on this site.

That is sad, Bev. The man knew you couldn't damage anyone with them and was just showing off his power. Personally, I would have reported him. There was no reason for that.

Thanks. It would have done no good at all to report him. He was within his rights to do it, but he did it with such nastiness that I've never forgotten the look on his face. Believe it or not, I actually cried over the incident. I asked him to give them to his wife if he had to take them from me and he scowled and told me there were laws against him doing that. He then told me to move on or I'd get myself in real trouble.

There are warehouses where unclaimed baggage, lost and found items, etc... and some of these confiscated items go. They then sell them... I read about all of the "great deals" that you can get at these sales. That adds insult to injury....

I've purchased several large lots of confiscated scissors through e-bay. Some of the scissors belonged in the trash can to begin with, but some of them were really nice ones -

I haven't seen any large lot auctions lately - don't need any more scissors, but I had great fun going through the ones I got.
