My neighbor's mother gave this sewing machine to me. Sadly there is no bobbin case and I am not sure if I can get one.

It is a New Home model 710. The number that was on the back is 621001171.

Its a bit dirty so I will have to clean it and it even came with a white heavy duty plastic case.

I have no clue how old it is but I don't think it is really all that old because it has a button holer and a bunch of the decorative stitches.

You can get a new bobbin case for it for about $14 plus shipping. Check out this website for the class 96 bobbin case. It is compatible with New Home (Janome) model 710.

Looks like a fun backup machine to have on hand!

I have this machine. It belonged to my MIL, than she bought a Bernina in the late 80s. I'm guessing it was from the 60s or early 70s. I haven't had it out in a while. It is a workhorse of a machine. She hemmed jeans and did all kinds of rough sewing with it as they were ranchers at the time.

I was going to suggest it was 60's or 70's machine. Looks a lot like the Janome I used at school, way back in the 70's.

New Home is the company that became Janome, so parts should certainly be available. What a lovely gift!

One of my machines is a Janome New Home (MX3123). It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of my Elnas, but I really love that machine. It's a workhorse that purrs like a kitten and has exceptional stitches. :D :D I hope you like your New Home as much as I do mine. :D

I hope I do too. I'm excited to try it out. :)

I have that same machine or one just like it. My Mom gave it to me in the mid to late-60's. And I have sewn on it continuously since then. Clothes, bedspreads, curtains, pillows, you name it. It certainly does it all. I still have the booklet that came with it if you need a copy.
