New ironing spray
Someone posted about Bounce ironing spray and I found it at Walmart. It's not a starch but more like Mary Ellen's Best Press. It was $2.98 for the big spray bottle size. There was three bottles on the shelf and I bought all three. I'll take one for guild use and show and tell.

Have you tried it yet? What did you think about it? It is perfumey in smell like the dryer sheets are?

Sgardner, If you don't like the scents they put in commercial starches and ironing sprays, you can make your own with just corn starch and water. I make my own and it costs, oh I'd say about 3 cents for 16 ounces.:)
|
I like that it is a pump spray. I will be looking for it to try. Thanks for the imformation.:)

It gives the same results as the Best Press. The scent is present when I was ironing but it didn't seem to stay in the fabric that I could tell. It's a very clean scent not as strong as the dryer sheet smell. I made the cornstarch version and it flakes too much and seems to burn if using a hot iron. There are unscented sprays that are very good. I reason if I couldn't afford starch I didn't need to be quilting in the first place. LOL.

I will look for it.I like Best press, but I like this will use it.I don`t like starch.

Thanks for the info. I will look for it next time I'm shopping.

Thanks for the heads up! Glad you don't live in my area, lol. I'll look for it in my Walmart and hope someone didn't snatch them all up!:)

Walmart here is very bad about not having the same product again, especially new items. I learned to buy as much as I can when I see it. I was with three of my quilt buddies at the time and they they didn't want any. I did try to share it! LOL.

Thanks. I just Googled the product, found the Bounce website and sent for coupons.

I have used this and really like it. My scrappy fabric in my unorganized supply are really full of wrinkles and
it works great. |

NO KIDDING !!! once you love something they make a 'great value' substitute and get rid of the name brand one.. Drives me crazy.. So im like you, I will buy in bulk cause you never know if they will have next time you need it.. I make my own and have the sprays- depends on what im doing; for piecing- use my own (sta-flo/water/frebreeze) for finishing tops- Niagra for pressing yardage- Niagra for finished quilts- best press for a nice presentation.. |
I'll have to get some on my next trip to the store.

Some time ago on the board someone said that they cut Mary Ellen's spray in half with water. I've been doing it ever since and it works great, I for one didn't notice any difference except it goes a lot farther now :0)
I will look for the Bounce on the next trip too! |
