I was told by a dealer that for the first 6 months from the introduction of the machine they cannot sell it for less than $2499.00. The msrp is $3000.00. Janome did have a special deal for the first week for $1900.00 and that was only for dealers that ordered a specific amount of the Horizon. It is a beautiful machine and has alot of features. The bed is 11 inches to the right of the needle. you don't have to switch plates to do straight stitch. The accufeed is great and it is quiet.

Saw it at the shop this week. Very nice in person. I was too scared to ask the price. I should have as DH asked me if I wanted the clerk to demo it and I politely told him, "no, we can't afford it". Oyyy, someone slap me!

My dealer told me Jamome has set the price at 2999 and
there is no negociating or they could lose their dealership
with Janome. Any shop that sells it for less is in violation with Janome.
They gave me a great trade in price for my 6600 and it comes
with the table and extra thread holder. I am going to pick up my horizon today, I'm so excited!

I would wait if you can, it will eventually drop in price I expect. Yes, I really liked what I seen of it, the table and everything that comes with it, depending on yr deal. I don't need it as I have the memory craft 9500. It has a nice bed on it and I don't have as much time to sew as I like to venture into that price range! Very nice however!

The Horizon is my fantasy machine! My favorite feature is the 5 lcd lights. They are placed so there is no shadow. I also like how much comes with it. You get the large plexiglass quilt table. You also get the quilting feet and a semi hard case. I had to pay extra for all of those items on the last machine I bought. Although it costs around three thousand dollars, it is a value for all that comes with it and for everything that it can do. I WANT one. I will eat Ramen by candlelight while reading my old quilt magazines.....and save my pennies. I bet that by this fall/christmas time, there will be a little more flexibility in price.

I bought the 9700(?) last fall-I too was worried about the $ but then found out my husband bought a new bow-put that thing on the credit card so fast-I think I paid $1,800 for it on sale. Used my rewards card and got an additional $40.00 gift card and bought more fabric. LOVE It. All I want to do is sew, quilt and learn the embroidery. Work keeps getting in the way!

FYI:
I recently purchase a machine. You had to have a trade in. I ask them if you could purchase a machine at wal-mart for $100.00 to use as a trade-in and the answer was yes. So, you could do that and sell your expensive machine else where. Make a little extra to help pay for the new one.
