Saw an announcement from Janome saying there would be exciting news in 60 (with a countdown timer) days. Has anyone heard any rumors about what kind of machine it might be? I'm hoping for a new and improved version of 11000SE.

They refer to the "journey" so I think it's a successor to the Horizon, either an embroidery-Horizon combo or a quilting machine with an even wider harp. But the hype annoys me, actually.

I'm not really sure what to think. The Horizon is fairly new. Think the 11000SE is 5 yrs old or maybe even more. I agree with the "mystery hype" of it all. I would prefer to know some basic info about it (including price range) so I can either eliminate the idea or start saving pennies like mad.

My guess is that it's an embroidery machine. I have a friend who co-owns a quilt shop and I remember she told me that our sewing machine guy wouldn't sell her a new embroidery machine this winter. He told her to just wait a little while.

If its a horizon / embroidery combo my hubby better get ready. Lol

I heard at the Cinci Show that they were coming out with a new one that included embroidery so I'm assuming you are correct....it will be a Horizon/Embroidery Combo.

Oh my! that would be a nice combo. Now we just have to wait and see. I know I love my 6600P.

I think the new Viking had this kind of build up too. It's supposed to put you in a shopping frenzy, I suppose;> Just guessing here, but the 11000 is due for a newer model. I'm going to put my virtual $ on a new 12000.

My Janome dealer/repair guy tells me there is a Janome 12000 coming out this fall. But he also said Janome is being pretty tight lipped about it with the dealers until the unveiling. He said it will be a sewing/embroidery machine. I'm guessing it will rival the Babylock Elissimo and the Bernina 830.

My mom has this sewing machine. I absolutely love it. I have used it for the embroidery on my Packer quilts. I really love the automatic thread cutter when top stitching my quilts.

It will be their new top of the line. My friend who works at the quilt store is going down to Florida on Labor Day weekend for a Janome convention and they will be having a class on the new machine. The quilt store said I could go with her and they'd pay for me to do the class too, but Sunday through Wednesday wasn't in the cards for me on the holiday weekend.

The quilt store owners are thinking maybe $8,000 or more for the privilege of owning it. That's Bernina money for God's sake. The 11000SE was only $5,000 and the Horizon $3,000, jeepers do these people think we're made of money.

They're just making what people want and are buying. Otherwise there wouldn't be a market for these machines.

Well, if it is 8000 maybe I'll see how much a traded in 11000 will be instead. That's out of my price range. Still is pretty exciting though.
