I just bought Arm & Hammer for my new HE washer. I love the scent. Lots of the typical brands (Tide, Era, etc....too many) are not environmentally friendly for septic tanks, which we are on. Not sure about color-catching ability. I use Color Catchers for that.

the only special direction i give w/ a quilt is to wash it on a gentle cycle. I make bed size quilts, so they take up an entire load all by themselves!!
i usually put it in the dryer to shorten the drying time. i use ERA soap. Used Tide when i had kids at home, it was great! But just for me - Tide is too expensive.. |
I use any of the dye free detergents and color catchers for my laundry, especially if the clothes are new. I wash new quilts separately with the same detergent and color catchers.

Somewhere on the bottle it says to wash new clothes items, especially jeans, separately at least 5 times before mixing together. So it isn't exactly no sort. I do the same thing with my Tide!
