New machine suggestions...

I have been using a Kenmore Mini Ultra for my FMQ but it's dying... I need some suggestions on a new machine that does good at FMQ but is not very expensive... I do all my piecing on my other machine, so it does not need to be good at straight stitching. I will eventually by buying a midarm machine, so I don't want to spend more than a couple hundred this time around. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I know lots of people have been happy with the Brother CS6000i. Except, as an all around machine, so I don't know how well it "specializes" in FMQing, though you can definetly do it somewhat nicely.

A few hundred is a pretty low budget for a quilting sewing machine. Unless you buy used, it may be hard to find a full size harp.

I have this exact same machine and I love it. I am not affiliated with ebay or the seller or anything like that. If I had the money, I'd buy this just to have a back up. My 1229 has been the best machine I've ever FMQ'd on.

Except that 1229 will never sell for under her amount. I have been wanting a 1222 or 122E or 1229 for along time but don't want to pay the high prices they are going for!

Brother pq1500s would be my choice but it it's around 500

For your budget I would go with a singer 15-91 or 301 recessed in a cabinet. :) built in flat workspace and beautiful straight stitches. Super easy to maintain yourself and good harp space.
