I am a loyal Janome girl so I agree that you have made the best decision. Go ahead and enjoy the serger too! Threading it may be a learning curve, but using it is delightful.

I lost my husband last December 21, 2 days after or 50th wedding annivesary.
June of last year he bought me the Babylock Quest, March of this year I bought the Babylock Elegante 2 and now I just bought the Evolution Serger same deal, except no 10 year service. I haven't used my either waiting for classes. My daughter keeps teasing me that I am spending her inheritance. I told her the only thing she is getting is the house and my insurance policys. She just laughs and shakes her head and says you go for it Mom |

I am happy for you and again you made the best decision. I'm also jealous. I am still sewing on my 1974 Elna and I would not trade it in for anything. But I have been dreaming of an embrodiary maching and a serger since I now have my first great-gramdson.

Congratulations to you! Did you also take advantage of the special sale on digitizer Jr. software? If you buy any Janome machine, you can purchase the Jr. software for $150.00 which is a savings of about $300. If this is news to you, log on to the Janome home site for details. I don't want to create my own designs, but there are several things available on embroidery software that I would like to do. I just haven't been properly motivated to buy any software, except the Janome Customizer. Normally, Janome digitizing software is priced "out of sight", but this is a good deal that I would take advantage of if I were buying a new machine.

Fantastic. Did you know that if you lie on the bed with your head back, nothing droops? Now you just have to figure how to suspend your sewing machine from the ceiing (sideways). The best of both worlds!

The heck with the lift....beauty is on the inside. Eat,exercise and be happy in life and that will get you looking and feeling well. Almost enough to have a weekend quiltfest.

Great choice - no face lift comes with 10 yrs of service, in fact most need redone in 10 years even with minor costly tune ups (botox) in between.
Your Janome will still be working and producing beautiful quilt "faces" for 20 plus.

If your eye doctor says it's medically necessary to have the droopy eyelids fixed (interferes with periphial vision), insurance and/or medicare (or both, if you're 65, on medicare and have a supplement) will pay for it. Just had my eyelids done in July and love the results.

Congrats on your upcoming retirement and on DH. He will be retiring on my birthday. I retired in 2004 and have enjoyed it . However until this year I worked all through the school year as a part time math tutor, 4 days a week half a day. and that took up a lot of my time. But have still enjoyed my retirement. |

Is the serger for use with quilting? Just wondering- I only have a regular sewing machine (1979 Singer Stylist) I think is would be nice to have a machine that does embroidery but have no idea which is best for that, but it seem many on this board like the Janome...
