New Member looking for DJ help

Just joined and I am so excited--this is the year I am starting my DJ project. A friend and I are going to do it together--she has all her blocks given to her in the CW fabrics and I am using white batik for my background and bright batiks for the main colors. Is there anyone on here that has done this quilt and might be willing to help when I (just know) need it?

What's a DJ project (showing my ignorance for all the world to see:o)?

I have not done the quilt, but you have come to the right place, the people on here are very helpful. I just want to give you a warm WELCOME!!!

Doing these small blocks will increase your sewing skills by a billion percent.
Don't just start with the easy ones. You'll get bogged down later and perhaps just quit.
Work across or down each row, or round and round from the center, whatever makes you happy.

I didn't put my sashing on until I had about 75 blocks finished. BORING. BORING. MORE BORING.
Do it as you go along. There are so many finished now you can see a lot of different ways of doing the sashing so
you probably can pick something and still be happy with it down the road.

good luck. Mine is double sided.

Thank you so much--this does help.

Wow--double sided--both sides DJ? I have a few questions about the software--when I print the rotary cutting directions for some of the blocks--It prints, for example, directions for cutting parts A, B, D--but no C. Or, it may print parts A, B, C, E, and F. Am I loosing it--have I gone nuts? I can print out PP directions and it is fine. At first, I thought it didn't have the missing part--silly me--there it is showing it on the diagram--I NEED MY C---or whichever letter is missing. Am I making sense?

This is a quilt I would love to make too -- I have the book, and the software--just need the nerve! Check out thatquilt.blogspot.com That blog gives comprehensive help on each block. I've done lots of reading on the DJ. Still haven't figured out what colorwave to go with. Good luck on your quilt. This board will answer all kinds of questions for you. I think your biggest challenge is over -- you know what colors you are going to use!!

sometimes the pieces print on more than one page... there is a way to move them to all be on one page if you are using templates, but not for rotary cutting. make sure you scroll to find all pages.

if you give me a block number, i will pull it up and see if i can tell what's happening.
