I like folding with the use of a ruler too, because it provides less bulk than wrapping around a board. I do mine like in the video, but fold lengthwise twice so the fabric is about 11" before folding . I store in a plastic drawer system and they fit perfectly.

That is so neat! I saw it done at my LQS a couple weeks ago and even though my stash is quite organized, I ALMOST feel like re-folding all of it!

It took me several days to fold and organize, but it was great because I could re-evaluate my stash and I found fabric I forgot I had.

Doing the ruler folding is on my to do list... for next week. I am planning on getting a new ruler or two on Saturday and I will be specifically thinking of one for this alone. I think it will be worth it in the end....
I'm looking forward to doing my entire stash... and am hoping it will free up a ton of space too!

It saves space to fold it this way. I started folding fabric on the thin boards and it really saves space.

Thanks for sharing the link. I have heard of the technique on the board but couldn't picture it.

I was SO glad to find this!! I've just begun re-folding my fabric, but I've already gotten formerly two drawers of fabric into one!

I did something similar to this with a good portion of my home decor fabrics this afternoon. Now they fit so nicely in the tote and you can see the end of each one to tell exactly what all is there. Just need to do the rest of it now!
