New Quilter Learning The Ropes
Hey everyone! I am a new quilter, looking to connect with others with quilting experience to learn the ropes. I am always looking to connect with quilt lovers, and sewers in general. I actually recently downloaded a new app I found from Art Gallery Fabrics to see projects, and new patterns that they have available. Have any of you used AGF? :)

Hi QQ and welcome to the board. You found a wonderful resource to connect with other quilters in the QB. I have learned so much from this board and I joined as an experienced quilter. My quilting has improved with tips and tricks and inspiration I have learned here. There is always so much eye candy in the photo section, we all love the pictures here and more is better when it comes to pics!. Have never heard of Art Gallery Fabrics will be checking them out.

Hi Quiet Quilter and welcome to the board from New Hamshire. Please feel free to ask questions.

Welcome from Vermont and enjoy all the info and help from this world-wide group.
Welcome from Ontario, Canada.
I guess it isn't real these days if there isn't an app for it.
Good luck and I hope you stay around. You will learn more from an hour of browsing the history of this board than you will from any app. tim in san jose |
You've come to the right place!
I'm new here, too and I've learned so much in the short time I've been here. I've also asked a ton of questions and received so many wonderful answers. So far, no one seems sick of me. ;) I'm sure you'll love it here! Watson |
Elementary Watson.

Welcome from Southern California. The only app I have on my tablet is the Robert Kaufman. I usually look at Google images for inspiration besides seeing all the quilt posted here on this site.
Here's a great big HOWDY from Texas. I've just gotten active on this board recently & am loving all the things I'm learning & seeing here. There are some really great quilters here that are willing to share their information with all of us. I look forward to seeing what you are quilting these days.

The app is to buy their fabric via a phone app. Sorry, but when the first post from anybody on any forum is pushing something I tend to assume the post is Spam, though cleverly disguised.
Welcome from western NY and happy quilting :)
Welcome from Maryland. You're in good company here.
Welcome! I love AGF! The fabrics have a nice feel, almost like sateen. My local shop doesn't carry many of them, though. The AG website has some really cute patterns, especially for clothing.
Welcome from New Mexico! You will enjoy Quilting Board, and find yourself right at home.
Welcome! Where in Florida are you? I am northeast of Gainesville.
Welcome! Not familiar with the app, but Art Gallery Fabrics are using some of Angela Walters' designs.
Welcome from Washington, and happy stitching!
Welcome from Southern California!
Welcome to the Board! Thanks for posting the AGF information---I scrolled through their large list of free patterns and found many modern designs that I really like! I will say that lots of them may be somewhat of a challenge for a real beginner quilter however, I would classify most of them in the Confident Beginner to Intermediate difficulty level. Not to discourage you in anyway, just a little 'alert'!!!
Welcome from NW PA. I have learned more from this board than from 20 years of making quilts and taking classes. You'll love it here. I spend waaaaay to much time perusing this board!
Welcome waving from NE Ohio.
Another hello from Eastern Washington. Come back here often, there is always something to learn. Take it from someone who has been quilting for over 20 years but still has questions, and I always always get input here.
Welcome!!!!!!! 😀
Know nothing about AGF app, but a big welcome from UK.
Welcome to Quilting Board from Colorado. I have learned a lot from this wonderful forum, and I look forward to it everyday. Enjoy!
Howdy from Normal IL. Nothing about the APP. I don't get apps on my phone.
Welcome to the QB. You're gonna love it here. There are so many creative, helpful and caring members. I have not used any quilting apps.
Trust me...you will love this place and learn loads!!! Welcome!
I know you will find lots of encouragement and help from members of this board. It is certainly active. In order to get my quilting done I limit my board time to 45 minutes. Frequently, I wonder what I miss by the time constraint. There are lots of things to explore. I especially enjoy the pictures of items created by others. It encourages me to keep going and trying new things.
Here's a big shout out from a Arkansas hillybilly! This Board will quickly become like family to you. Can't start my day without coffee & the Board! Welcome and ask away!
Welcome to the Quilting Board. There are thousands of apps out there for quilting. Not all are trying to sell something. Using the internet, you can find bazillion free patterns and many, many fabric stores.
Welcome from Idaho. You will learn many things right here on the board!
Welcome new quilter to the QB from MA, formerly from NH. You're going to learn a lot about quilting, quilts and quilters on the QB, welcome aboard.
Welcome from Central Iowa! MHO- you have found the best place for information. I have learned lots, enough to share with seasoned quilting friend. She will say "we talked about xyz at quilt guild" and I say "Yea-read about that on my QB".
I didn't know I wanted a vintage Singer sewing machine until here. Now I do! Just tons to learn, so many helpful and knowledgeable people. I have found this place to addictive as well. The only time I got behind on my daily QB was the week my mom died. |
Another App that I have found extremely helpful is the Robert Kaufman QuiltingCalc-it's free!
Welcome from the foothills of the blue Ridge Mtns in Virginia. We hope you won't actually live up to your screen name, even if all you 'speak' are questions for the first while!! :)

Welcome from the west coast of Fl just north of Naples. Didn't have a phone to get apps until recently but the
quilt groups on web are great free classes , patterns and info so all you need to be a quilter except lots of time. |
Welcome quiet quilter from Central Texas. I'm relatively new here too but LOVE all the helpful hints and the photos make me wish I were a better quilter. I have a long arm and love it, but am no where near as good as many are on here; maybe - someday. Enjoy the board; the info on there is the best and free! Even better.
