I decided to ditch the Tigger/Winnie the Pooh quilt idea...at least for now. I don't know...I saw my friends buying their kid a $10 stuffed Tigger at Wal-Mart yesterday without a second thought and that got me thinking of all the other Pooh bear and Tigger stuff he already has (and probably doesn't need). Movies, stuffed animals, decor, this bouncing Tigger thing, etc. Suddenly I just don't feel like making him a Tigger quilt when he already has a lot of Tigger stuff and will probably be getting more before, during, and after Christmas.

I came up with an alternative idea. Not sure if I'm going to go with it, but its the best idea I've come up with so far.

Looks good to me - you could do it in denim!!!!! LOL Just kidding. You must like blue. One of the two blocks could be a print - paisley??

I could, but I probably shouldn't do denim for a six month old baby.

Eh, I don't like blue that much. Its blue because I got the idea from a video game I'm playing...the tiling on one of the dungeons was made up of panels of dark and light blue squares. I just put sashing in between the panels. I couldn't think of a better color combination so...its blue.

Babies respond really well to black, white and red squares...actually its a developemental thing. I bet the baby would love it!!

Oh, I didn't even think of that! And the first quilt I made was a black, white, and red quilt...but the little guy's getting too big for it (he's almost 20 pounds!) lol.

What a great idea  It would be an easy pattern and it looks great! Looks like the quilting block got destroyed

I think the baby would love the bright colors.

Who ya gonna call...

LOL

Hmmm...I don't think I want to go with the blue color scheme, but when I tried a black, white, and red scheme...just didn't appeal to me.

And I still gotta figure out how big I want to make it. I know I have to make it big because otherwise he's going to grow into it too fast (at six months, can fit into 18 month clothing.) But I don't want to make it exceedingly huge...

What colors are in his nursery?? I have all the faith in the world that you'll come up with the perfect idea for the little guy!! 18 month all ready huh? Wow, that's what baby Hailey is in now and she's 17 months. Keep us updated on what you decide. As a rule of thumb, I usually make crib size covers (sewn, quilted or crocheted) until they outgrow their cribs, then, if they are still the right size when youngin's move on to toddler beds which use a crib size mattress. That way they get more years of use.
