New quilting machine bernina

I'm looking to buy a new quilting/sewing machine, a Bernina 770 QE, and was wondering if anyone has one and can give me their thoughts on this machine or advise me on another.

I have 790 and I do lots and lots of quilting on my machine it has the best stitches for quilting I have had ,I just select my straight stitch it set the tension, does a locking stitch when I start and off I go . I only got the 790 because I also like to do Embriodery at times .

I love my 770QE...I did a ton of research and checked reviews before making the purchase a little over a year ago and I have never been sorry. I love everything about the machine and find it great for FMQ though it took me a bit to get used to the BSR. I also own two Janomes that are great but the 770 is my everyday machine.

I believe this Saturday only, if you buy one you get a freebie pack that includes a bunch of goodies too. I’ve been drooling over it.

If you haven't already, check patternreview.com for reviews of this machine. You may have to sign up to see all the reviews (signing up is free and they do not inundate you with emails). The reviews give date purchased, purchase price, plus actual user reviews of the machine. I did a search on the Bernina 770 and came up with 14 reviews. Not sure you will be able to view them without signing up and doing the search yourself, but this is the page I got:

https://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi...anyID=2&Type=1

Most of the searches are 5-star, but the 3-star review and another I scanned quickly noted that this machine is not for everyone and that it has a steep learning curve (at least for some people).

Thanks so much for your info. I will do my due diligence and go to Babylock and the Husquavarna/Janome/Pfaff store as well since it is so much money, but I'm sure I won't be buying another machine in the future. I have had my little Janome since 1984 so I guess it's time for a new machine.

. Wow, we can see the reviews. I’m surprised to see such variance in what people have paid for it!

whats the difference between the 400,500,700 series etc.?

Is this a long arm or regular sewing machine?

Buying an expensive sewing machine is a lot like buying a car. Often there is "wiggle room" in the price. Knowing how to haggle usually helps.

I personally did not care for the 7 series machine i used for fmq at all but that was just me. So far the only bernina i have used that i liked was the q20
