I'm thinking of getting a new machine. Just the basic with lot's of different stitches. Any sugestions? I have a brother 8200 that drives me crazy. Bought it in 1995. When it works right I love it, when it doesn't I hate it. Right now I hate it. Would like some input on different brands.

I just got a Husqvarna sapphire 875quilt and it is fabulous. Has lots of great features like auto tension, thread cutter etc and a walking foot that you can snap on special feet, like a stitch in the ditch or 1/4 foot. Check Ebay for the best prices

If I were buying a machine for quilting I would go to the Janome Horizon. I've tried it a couple of times and if I could justify buying another machine that's the one I would get. Can anyone say run on sentence??

I just purchased a Brother Innovis 2000NX Laura Ashley in November. I love it. It came with 14-17 feet and has been wonderful so far.

I also have the Husqvarna Sapphire 875 and I also really, really like it. There are so many cool options on it.

Keep in mind how close dealers are located to you. I have a Bernina which I really like, however, the closest dealer is an hour and a half away from where I live. Since I can use only Bernina accessories, bobbins included, I have to plan in advance when I'm going. If I have a problem, I'm pretty much out of luck, until I can take a day and go there. That's why I have a Kenmore for backup. Next time I buy, it will probably be a Janome if only because the dealer is only about 35 minutes away.
