Thanks everyone. I asked for risers and my SIL took the challenge. You're right, if I stump my toe on these, it won't hurt. They work very well and are not hard to take off.

Thanks for the info on purchasing them at the dollar store. Someone on the Board had used one on their knee lift and I thought that was a great idea too.

It makes me laugh. It is amazing what we come up with, that none quilt related items could be used for quilting. No one can say that our minds are not creative in many different ways.
