I rec'd a new sewing machine. Janome, Memory Craft 6600P and I also rec'd a Quilt Binder Set - I have not opened either yet since want to read, read, read instructions. My husband also got my a free lesson from the dealer. Has anyone used the Quilt Binder Set??? Does it work??? it sounds to good to be true.

Congrats on your new toys. They've talked a lot about the new quilt binder set over on Yahoo's 6500 /6600 group. You may want to join . It's a literal treasure trove of info.
I'm a new owner of a 6600 and I've learned alot there.

Happy holidays!

Thank you!
I hope you like your machine. I really put mine through a workout the last two days and it was great. I've had mine for a few months but haven't done much more than piece with it. I made a few quilted totes and I gotta tell you, the Accufeed was amazing. I was very impressed. If you join the Yahoo group, Brubaker's will give you a 10 or 15% discount code ( can't remember which) from their site. You can use it if anytime you want to buy more feet for it, etc..

For what it's worth, the only thing I was disappointed in is the crappy vinyl cover. My old Janome has a hardcase . I expected the same with the 6600 --especially since it's a much more expensive machine. Regardless, you'll have to let me know how you like the binding set. I've heard mostly good things about it.

Happy holidays!

I was a bit surprise about the cover also you would think with the amount the machine cost they could have done a little better.

Hmmm. my old kenmore had a binder foot that was similar. Once I got the hang of it I did like it.

From what I understand, the quilt binder foot is meant to use one layer of fabric and it folds it under on both the top and bottom sides before it gets stitched on. The ends up giving you only 1 layer of fabric on the actual edge of the quilt.
My Janome dealer says you can feed a folded fabric through it but it is tedious to get it started.
