Our local Wal-mart still has bolts of fabric in additon to the precuts. Maybe because we are so far from any fabric stores it makes sense for them to have it here.
|
So far our WM has not brought fabric back in. :(
|
Our Walmart has both as well. They had a gigantic sale in January, sold a LOT of fabric and now I noticed there are a lot more bolts of new fabric and higher prices of course.

This is the way Alco had most of the fabric in their stores too. Alco quit selling fabric last year. The fabric is mostly Robert Kaufman fabric and other name brands. I found Jenny Beyer, Red Rooster, South Sea Imports, Marcus Bros.,Aunt Gracie, you never know what brand will pop up. Same price then as Walmart now. The fabric lines are not the newest in the quilt shops but that doesn't bother me.

I get to travel next week across the state to Bend. I am SO looking forward to visiting Hancocks and Jo-Anns. I hope to make it to the new Walmart Super Store that they built a few years ago in Redmond. You never realize what you had when it's not available any longer. It is very sad when you have to travel more than 100 miles to shop for fabric.

Our area WalMart is a new store, with only a few pre-packaged fabrics. I was not impressed. Poor quality, and usually one cute fabric and one dud. Oh well.
|
I dont like any of the fabrics they carry, not the quality but the prints are awful.
Not to my tastes at all. |
I don't like the precut packages either. I prefer to feel the fabric and see more than just a 5" piece.
Walmart lost me! |
Our local worthless walmart has no fabric of any kind. Yesterday I looked for a spool of thread to use on my machine. they had 2 spools of white, 4 spools of black, and lots of empty spaces where thread should have been. The craft department is about 8 feet on one side of the aisle next to 3 short rows of office supplies. They were out of the old roy dog food my dogs eat. But in their favor I was able to get a loaf of bread and a bottle of milk.

Our local Wal-mart had a cutting table and then a remodel made them do the precuts. That didn't go over good at all, so then they went back to a cutting table,. then a remodel and took it plum out. Now we have guns...no fabric, but guns.
