New wheels for my longarm

I was working on a quilt one day on my longarm when (and you who have longarms will know what I mean) when all of a sudden it started to make really strange noises. The quilt I was working on was a Dresden Plate about 60 years old, so strange noises coming from the motor of my machine was not good. So I got on the phone and called APQS and they said that it was most likely the bruches on the motor. It turned out to be the brushes on the motor. I got my machine in 1997 it works great but It was geting hard for me to move around. I am getting older so thought it was me. I asked the salesperson at APQS if there was anything I could do to make it lighter to move. The new machines move so much smoother than mine. So I thought they were much lighter in wheight than my old machine. She explained that my old machine was actually lighter than the new machines. I told her that could not be true, because anyone who tries to use my machine had the same problem with moving it. Well whe said it is the wheels. THE WHEELS. I could not beleive it. So I thanked her for the information and hung up. My Husband asked me what she she said and I told him and he said GET THEM! So I did. I just want you all to know that it moves so easily now that I have had to learn how to quilt on my machine agine.

So for all of you Long armers out there that are having trouble getting back and neck pain form the wheight of your machines, think about getting NEW WHEELS. It is Like having a New machine, but without all the expense.

The wheels are on the carriage, so they are officially part of the frame. Some are upgradeable, some (like mine) are not, but is really worth checking into.
