I have never tried that pattern, although I have admired it. While cruising thru Pinterest this morning, saw another one and thought...maybe this could be a personal challenge...not a full size, maybe a tablerunner..... So I started looking at how to do on YouTube...paperpiecing it was what I decided, then I watched Eleanor Burns use a fusible interfacing technique from one of her books....I have that book! Has anyone here tried EB technique? Maybe I'll try one block that way...have some fusible interfacing.....maybe next week, I'll get her book off the shelf and try......??????

I've only done NYB blocks with pp'ing with great success, I might add. I think it might depend on how you intend to quilt as the fusible will add another layer to your blocks and perhaps make them a bit stiffer? I don't know as I've not used a fusible interfacing before for quilting. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I have not done NYB yet. I do have it printed on a light muslin....sort of like the interfacing, but it will remain part of the quilt once sewn. Good luck with the interfacing. I think that will work. EBurns methods are generally tried and tested very well. Keep us posted!

I did do it by paper piecing. Worked great, except you need to put ALL the blocks together in the quilt/table runner etc and then take the paper off. Otherwise your blocks don't always line up....ask me how I know.....

I've made several NYB things.....one wall hanging and three quilts. I used pping on all and it was fun! I always took the paper off after making each block. I think whether or not you do this is a matter of preference.
