As I have said in most of my replies, I am a newbie, very much a NEWBIE because I haven't gotten my feet wet yet. I've been too busy reading and looking at all the beautiful things posted here.
I'd like to ask a favor though, bold of me, I know. While reading I have come across many terms I don't understand. For example: WIP, FQ, UFO, OBW and FMQ. Would it be possible for someone to post what some of these terms mean? If it has already been done, I apologize and if so, could someone please tell me where I can find it. |
WIP -- Work in Progress. A quilt you are not finished with yet.
FQ -- Fat Quarter. A piece of fabric 18" x 22". You buy these already cut at your fabric store. UFO -- Unfinished Fabric Object. Same thing as WIP. OBW -- One Block Wonder. Type of quilt pattern. Others can explain this better than I. FMQ --Free Motion Quilting. Quilting you do when you drop the feed dogs on your machine. Now you can quilt in any directions and make all kinds of patterns (feathers, circles, loops, etc) |
Cindy welcome!
WIP - work in progress FQ - fat quarter (18X22 inch cut of fabric) OBW - one block wonder FMQ - free motion quilting UFO - unfinished object ( all the projects we start then put aside for later. LOL!) |
