Hello everyone, haven't been on for awhile but I do get on and check the posts when I can. Well first I will give the update on the stepdad. The last i told you after he cut his leg with the chainsaw and I took him back and with the tests I had them run they found he had kidney functioning issues. Well since then he has had a stint put in on both kidneys. They found one side was 60 percent blocked and the other was 80 percent blocked!!! His numbers on the blood work showed he was about 3 points away from dialysis! Anyway, he had the surgery on Monday and you wouldn't even know it! He feels great and by Wednesday he was back to driving. Today he is out picking up tree limbs from the big storm we had last week that put our electric out for 24 hours. That is a whole other story!! Some people in our town and state are still out of power after a week. Anyway all is good. The whole ironic thing about all of the step dad thing is that he has no problem with that leg and healed up so nicely. It was like it was all meant to happen for a reason. If it wouldn't have happened and had problems with the blood pressure I would have never took him back and they would have never found it all out. His blood work the other day showed the functioning is just about back to normal. Totally amazing!

Glad to have ya back. I like seeing familiar "faces". And it's great that the leg/kidney is doing well too. Now, get back to quilting!

I am glad to hear that all is well.
So what are you working on just now? I love a family that likes blue..... Anne |
I wondered where you were? I was going to ask but I couldn't remember what your nickname was....
Glad you're still around! |
Hi Toni...missed you. I'm glad your stepdad is doing so well. I know what you mean by good things sometimes happening from bad things. Once I had to have a transfusion and when my dad went up to give blood for it, his blood pressure was too high. He went immediately to see his doctor and got on bp medicine and has done well for 34 years. They told him he was close to having a stroke when he went in. We were shocked as my dad was only 48 at the time. It was pretty scary!

Glad you're back. Your stepdad is a very lucky man, but I think his greatest piect of luck is in having a daughter like you to watch out for him! Glad to hear he's doing so well. Have you had any time for quilting?

Wonderful news about stepdad! I'll still keep you in my prayers. We were lucky enough to have escaped the power outage but we came home through cincy that night and it was spooky with all the lights out! I feel for those who lost thier power - I've lived through an 8 day blackout twice, both due to ice storms! Not fun!!!

Toni, I am so glad that things are looking up for you and your stepdad. It is great to hear from you. KIT!
