Newspaper Blocks book?

Is there a book of the patterns that were printed in the newspapers a long time ago? I remember seeing clips in my grandmothers stuff but wondered if anyone has collected them.

There was definitely patterns in a newspaper - A Kansas paper, maybe Kansas City. I don't have them but a girlfriend does and she doesn't sew or quilt. Maybe I can talk her out of them.

I have quite a collection of quilt patterns from the old Kansas City Star newspapers. My aunt saved them.
I believe there are reprints if you google Kansas City Star quilt patterns or Pickle Dish.

Were those the Kansas City Star quilt blocks? A lot has been written about the Kansas City Star quilts. Barbara Brackman is a quilt historian and I believe she has a few books to her credit. An older cousin once showed me some of those instructions stuffed into a legal sized envelope for safe keeping. They were what she started out with in quilting. I think that Farm Journal also carried them.

Google Kansas City Star quilt blocks or quilt books. That was the newspaper that printed quilt blocks.

I have some old ones from my DM and DGM that came from the Dallas Morning news I believe or the county news paper that came out once a week. I believe I remember several years back seeing a paper back book you could order that had them in it and the story of the woman who published them but I can't remember where I saw it.

I know that EB has spoken about the clipping she has and I believe it was the Kansas City Star quilt blocks. There use to be reprints in Fairfield batting from the 80s.

The Kansas City Star. Pictures of Patterns were printed in the news paper and then ordered. I have several of the patterns that were my Grandmothers. They are very frageal, as they were printed on newspaper. They are very precious to me.

All patterns from 1928 - 1961 have been offered in collections here.. http://www.quilterbydesign.com/kansascitystar.html Oh, how I'd love to collect the entire set! I remember my gramma having quilt patterns from a newspaper, but it must have been in TN. I'm sure a lot of newspapers must have printed patterns for use with feed sack materials.

Caution: I think I remember reading that there were often printing errors with those patterns in the newspapers, so be sure to make up one block before cutting all your fabric.

Thanks for the links and the ideas y'all I think crafty pat hit on what I was remembering. A paperback with the background story and the patterns. I loved the link but really don't need them full sized.
