I never made bias bindings on all the quilts I made years ago. Always straight line cutting. They are still perfect after all these years. I'm thinking bias would ultimately twist and turn.

I'm impressed with her hand quilting. Each stitch is the exact same size. Wish I could do that!

I used the machine to finish by sewing along the edge of the front to secure the back. I noticed my back binding had at least 1/8" extra past the stitching. I wonder if I should use 2 1/4" wide strips to start with, or if I'm supposed to fold it with some extra looseness past the edge of the quilt so the front and back are the same width?
