I have the first Nickle Quilts book and I love it. I plan to make the quilt on the front cover out of CW repros.

Thanks for the post! I love scrappy quilts and wish I could have all 3 of these books. I think the guild library is a great idea. I'm going to suggest it.

Bebe, I have the book and love it. our guild had a nickle exchange. it was fun

Great! Thanks from a scrappy quilter. :)

Thanks, Bebe! I checked the site and loved the quilts. I ordered her first two books from our library consortium, however, none of the libraries have her third book yet. I like to check books out from the library first to see if I really like them before I buy. I'm afraid that right now I'm just looking at the pretty pictures too, but hopefully that will change soon and I'll get busy actually making some quilts.

what is a nickel quilt?
|
using 5" squares makes a nickel- all choice of fabric and they can be all cut up for the pattern they are fun. some shops will sell the squares for a nickel.
|
so any quilt pattern whose pieces begin with 5" squares? and they can be cut up? and they be the same or different? so what makes them any different from other patterns?

i'm not trying to be a smart-ass, honest. why can't you just cut up any fabric into pieces smaller than 5"? why would that be different?

so can you start with 5" squares and then cut? if you can, then they don't have to start at 5". they can start at ....anything, as long as they don't exceed 5". wrong? |
Thanks for the post, sounds like a fun to do quilt, will certainly look into it.

So just go with it and have fun. |
