Nine Patch help please

I have strips cut in a dark colour and squares cut in colourful fabrics. Does anyone have a link to a video or tutorial to show me how to use the long strips, add the squares and make several 3 piece strips quickly? I don't want to cut the strips into squares and make nine little squares to stitch together. Somewhere I saw directions using the long strips and adding small squares, one by one down the length of the strips. Clear as mud? LOL! Many thanks for your thoughts!

You place your strip right side up, start placing the squares on top of strip right side down, leaving just a little gap between squares & just sew down the side of the strip/ squares. Then you can either press while joined or cut apart between squares. If you are adding another strip press the squares out away from the first strip, then turn it over & place the squares onto the next strip, right sides together & sew. Then you can press again & cut between the squares

Thanks for the link. I have made nine patch blocks before with this method but I'm looking for the method where you use long strips and precut squares. I started cutting fabric without thinking this through so now I have a huge pile of squares already cut. Thanks so much for your thoughts!

Thank you! This is the method I was looking for. A friend told me the other day there was a video showing someone using this method but I can't find it anywhere. Heading to the sewing room................many thanks!

Thanks! the only video I found with making nine patch blocks is the one where you use strips only. My coloured squares are cut so I need to use dark strips and then those coloured squares. Thanks for trying though!
