You can also take a spring clothspin and separate it and use one side to press. It also works great.

I had pieced all afternoon yesterday without pressing!!! Didn't even have to pin intersecting seams and they matched up just by pushing them into place!!! So much faster and love it! Thank you whoever posted this idea in the beginning!! Awesome!

I do not understand why some of you do not press the seams as you go! Do you not have to press all seams and the entire top before you add borders or sandwich. Seems to me that it is much more work to have to press every seam after the top is together. At least if I press as I go then most of my final press is half done.

Sometimes it's necessary for me to say Take that you stubborn piece of fabric and iron it to submission.

Works for me except to do FG's and diagonal corners, then I want them really flat! Do you find that different fabrics "flatten" or take the fold much easier than others?

I'm impressed!!! As a LA quilter, I've whined about un-ironed tops and how hard it is SOMETIMES to make them look good. I've been trying this for the past couple of weeks and it works. The blocks seem to iron out flatter when I do eventually take them to the board. Very slick! Thanks for posting this trick!

So you just dont iron the blocks until they are all done and put together? The up and down trips to the ironing board improve my thigh muscles but definitely take sooo much time. I am making a quilt that has 2.5 inch squares and that is all!! Row by row I have to make this king size quilt but it is the ironing that is killing me...gonna try to do it without pressing...hehehe...maybe I will feel like I am getting somewhere!

How hard is it to iron after? I mean you have to make sure you don't 'uniron' some seams while ironing others, since they won't be flat already right? I can't imagine trying to iron one seam while others are still not ironed and not messing some up.
