Non Cotton Scraps
OK I'm finally getting my scrap pile in order (my DIL has an accuquilt coming tomorrow and my job is to press the scraps) so what does everyone do with the other stuff, knits, etc?

Well I don't have other than cotton scraps, but the first thing I thought of was stuffing for cat/dog beds.

non cotton scraps
Most of my stash is quilting fabric. What I do have that is non quilting I sort by type, fold, and store the same but in a separate area, I sort the scraps by color into small baskets, I do not cut into strips or squares. I make doll cloths toys, tote bags, and anything else the grands ask for.

If you have scraps of polyester (old style stuff) you can make a quick quilt out of just squares or even large pieces. I know that sometimes the Fire and Police depts will take those as the polyester doesn't stain - it just lives forever

OK, I've sorted through the stuff and I have flannel, cotton knit, fleece and a few unindentifiable scraps. Getting there, thanks for the suggestions.

I still occasionally sew clothing, so anything with any yardage I keep, although the non cotton fabric is kept in plastic totes, but if it's not yardage, I either donate it to our local Humane Society thrift store or I cut into pieces and make pet beds for the Humane Society, I also use the scraps that are too small for me to use, and make pet beds with those also.

You also can make Dog chew toys with them. Fleeze and Jeans work well.
|
I have lots of non-cotton fabrics that I use for creating fabric postcards. I almost wish I didn't have them cuz I have too much 'stuff'!
