How wonderful for you. Yes, we understand. I take binding to sew on usually for long trips. When I get there it's so peaceful to sit and listen to the birds and smell the fresh mown grass that you or your DH didn't have to mow or it could even be hay just cut from the fields. When we go on vacation there are no clocks. When we're hungry, we eat, when we're tired, we sleep. There are no rules. So if I want to quilt, I quilt. I think it's wonderful that your DH knows that doing what you did brings you relaxation. Please post your pictire when it's done. You did the right thing for you.

There could not be a better vacation than doing something you absolutely love.

A vacation at home ends up not being one, no matter how much you say it will be. So happy to hear you rested and relaxed, enjoying each other's company.

In my opinion you and your DH had a wonderful vacation, you were together and you both spent time doing something you you love - what's wrong with that?

My girlfriend and I meet up with some online quilting pals at an annual weekend retreat held in a quilt shop. Her DH doesn't understand why she would do that and her reply was that it's the only time she can sew when she wants to and for as often and as long as she wants to - no phones to answer, housework to do, dinners to cook, etc., etc. and all the while hanging with some great friends. We also can hit the Lancaster fabric stores if we want to take time away from quilting - what more could we want?

We're both disappointed that we can't make the retreat this year so I'm having a Jersey Girls Mini Retreat this weekend at my house for her and my sister.
