Nordic star quilt - HELP

I'm starting my. Iargest project yet, I'm self taught and need help calculating fabric yardage. I'm going to make a Nordic star quilt (full/double), with sashing, so I will need 15 - 12" blocks. I've found the block pattern here, scroll down for the large star:

I need to figure out how many yards I need of each fabric to make 15 of these things, please help! Thank you 😊

Howdy & welcome to the Quilting Board from Texas. You have picked out a very pretty block for your next quilt. I can't help you with yardage but I know that there are so many quilters on this board who can & will be along to help you with your problem. Please post pictures as you make this & let us see your finished beauty.

Welcome from western NY and happy quilting :)

Not knowing the planned layout for your quilt, I can only give yardage for the 15 blocks, which will not include sashing or borders.

Dark fabric - 1.25 yds
medium " - 1 yd
background - 2 yds

Hope this helps, and if you need to know the extra amount for sashing etc, do p.m. me.

Welcome to the forum! I looked at your link, did you notice she states the block is 13" unfinished? This would make a 12 ½ " finished block, which is fine as long as you aren't planning on combining it with 12" finished blocks.

Welcome to the board!

Maybe this site will help: http://www.quiltersparadiseesc.com/C...Calculator.php

If not I'm sure there will be many others that will weigh in :)

Thank you!!!! Oh my goodness, that's great 😄 I'm going to work out the sashing, I'm part pattern follower and part eye-baller.

Yes, of course! I'm so excited. It's for my best friend, so it's a labor of love for sure 😊

Sorry, I can't help with that one but it's so pretty!
It's coincidental- I just signed up for her blog a few days ago

I figured that you will need 2.25 yards of each color to make just the blocks. You would then have to decide if you want sashing and then add the backing and the binding. My LQS if very helpful with figuring out yardage for me. Give your LQS a try.
