Not sure if this is good enough to give
 

This is my second "proper" quilting project and for some reason I had thought to give it to my parents-in-law as their Christmas present.

I'm not sure though...I think it's pretty good despite a few mistakes but can I ask your opinion pls...and suggestions to fix any glaring boo-boos...

One of the short sides looks bad but I'm hoping I can get the hanging sleeve to cover that:

I know it's not the best quilt but do you think it's ok as a gift once the terrible top bit is concealed by the hanging sleeve?

I think you are being way too hard on yourself - it looks great - trust me if you saw everything we all do up close you would find all kinds of things that are not right. I think they will love it and what a great gift to give something that is handmade and from the heart.

I like it and they will probably love it. I love your fabric choices. They really add dimension to the quilt.

FYI...I don't like to work with Minky. The stretchiness drives me nuts. I'll take cotton any day.

i don't see any glaring boo boo's. as long as those are colors that they like, i'm sure they will be grateful. nicely done.

I totally get the harsh self-criticism, but none of us ever make perfect looking quilts & we all start somewhere. A quilt is a marriage between functional & artistic. Your quilt is both. Are there aspects that you might use to learn new techniques for the future? I'm sure there are, but the minor wrinkles weren't even noticeable until you did the close-up. If they were paying a lot of money for it, that'd be one thing. As a gift, I think it's great. Cut yourself some slack! I know I would be very happy to receive that very quilt. :)

If I were your daughter in law I would love it. My first quilting teacher kept telling us that quilting is a craft - hand made. We should do our best but don't expect perfection.

It is beautiful just as it is.

I really like it! I agree that you are worrying too much about it....we really tend to see our mistakes instead of just admiring the whole thing. Put it up for two days and then look at it again with fresh eyes. It really looks great, and your parents-in-law will love it!
