Not sure what to do with this

One day, I decided that I was going to use up my small scraps and I cut the tiny piece and put this together. It isn't very big, maybe a bench size. It makes me dizzy to look at it. Any suggestions?

Maybe a green or brown border would help a bit. I like it!

i would add a border, then a border of more scraps, then a final border. it looks great

I would add a narrow light border and a wider print border. It is really cool.

Yes... send it to me! I love it. I have a similar one of 16-patches on the wall over my bed.

How did you make it? If you sewed 9-patches and put them together, I would unsew the top back into 9-patches, then re-assemble using white sashing strips between the 9-patches, possibly putting the patches on point as well. If you sewed long strips together, I would unsew back into strips, cut the strips into a variety of lengths, and re-assemble with white sashing strips in a modern quilt type of configuration. For me, the work of unsewing would be worth it as white sashing would give the quilt a completely different look. The white would provide the eyes with relief, and would also frame all of the wonderful colors.

Here is an example of a 9-patch with sashing:

And here are some examples of different ways to use colored strips with sashing:

Another option would be to cut the top into 6 pieces (right through the middle of some of the strips), insert sashing, then border with the sashing material.

The sashing wouldn't have to be white, either. Gray would also give it a very nice look.

I love it...I think a border and then either that same pattern or another block with corresponding scraps would be awesome! I could also see it as the background for some cool applique (vase with flowers but really detailed -- more free flowing).....

thanks, these are great suggestions.

I wouldn't rip out any of it myself. but borders would be great. if too large now, just put a binding on it and call it done. It's your quilt and looks great as is too.
i added a rabbit to one I did but I had pale yellow sashings in it and of course added those as I went along sewing all my squares. It just seemed to need something.

I think a brick red border would be pretty, and then a scrappy binding. It's lovely!
