Just saw a video by Marcie Baker.. "Not Your Grandmothers Tumbling Blocks".

Wow... looks like it could be fun. If, I could understand and grasp the concept. :rolleyes:

The book is no longer in print and was wondering if any of you might have it? I'd sure like to borrow or purchase a copy.

Lynnie, that's where I saw the video. You're right, a picture is worth 10000000000 words.
Think I'd just do better with something I could read and reference a gazillion times. :)

I think that's something you have to dive in then you will see how it all goes together.
It looks harder than it is. Use a lot of starch as you will be sewing on the bias.

There's a note across the top of the video that says the pattern's in the book "ABC 3D Tumbling Blocks...and More" I just ordered it from Fabric Depot.

Just printed out the info from the HGTV web-site. Maybe I can figure this out.
Today I tried making tumbling blocks the regular way and it's not easy to get all the points to come together neatly. Thinking this other method might work better.

I printed it off also and the dresden plate. I don't know if I will ever make the tumbling block but I sure want to make the dresden plate quilt, just need to stop printing off so many patterns Ihave more now then I could ever make.

No telling how much printer ink and paper I've used to print patterns. Still, it's fun to know we've got all those options. If I never bought another pattern and tried to use up all the little pieces of fabric I've saved... well, I'd have to live a loooong time. :D
