Here is what i did with my roll ...and i removed the paper only after it was all pieced....it was so easy to sew with the paper on...i`m working on a second...i had enough of the roll to do about a third of the other....

Great way to use those scraps! I really like the variation we see in the 'un-rolled roll' - interesting.

Just one more great idea to beat the high cost of fabric and add a great deal of whimsy to our scrap quilts. Thank you for all sharing of ideas and I'm anxiously waiting for the finished product of justflyingin.

just love that ideal, will have to try it. thanks for showing it.

I spray my paper backs with a light mist of water - let it soak in and gently pull it way so as not to stretch anything or pull out seams.
That's a great way to create more fabric. I wonder how many yards of fabric you created for this border? WELL DONE |

Here it is.
blue border crazy scrappy it is really straighter than it looks--just a bit breezy outside |
Leave the paper on to stitch, just the same method as paper pieced blocks. this helps hold the shape together as there is bias, all ways as well as straight piecing. It's beautiful. so clever to make a scrappy border to go on a scrappy quilt.
I love it-pegeth |
Oh and just WHY did you need our help??

That is really a neat use of the scraps and just fits your quilt perfectly.

Love your quilt, especially the border. What a great way to carry through the theme of your quilt! Thanks for sharing the pictures and the idea!

Love your scrappy quilt. Just think how many folks toss out this size of scraps when they could have had (eventually) another great quilt! I thank you for the paper roll idea, too. Makes a good way to put them to use and yet keep them out of the way until needed.
